2020 has been one heck of a year. But we managed to get through it and can look forwards to what is to come in 2021. The way we live has changed, the way we work has changed, and how much time we spend at home has changed. That means making sure your outdoor space is ready for big plans in 2021.

Let’s see what sort of updates will work well for your home landscaping in 2021.

Ultimate Staycation Home

Landscape Design Rockland NY

Landscape Design Rockland NY

Travel came to a near standstill even though March was a long time ago. We’re still seeing limited travel for leisure and vacations right now at the end of 2020. The stay-at-home “staycation” became the second new word of the year behind “covid-19”. Many homeowners took advantage of the money saved from not traveling and not throwing parties towards home renovations and landscaping updates.

Our most popular projects this year included:

  • In-ground pools
  • Outdoor kitchens
  • Outdoor patios
  • Pavilions and gazebos
  • Multi-purpose sport courts

Not to mention the more landscape specific projects:

  • new tree & shrub plantings
  • flower beds
  • mulching
  • irrigation & sprinkler systems
  • water features (coy ponds)

These are just some of the popular projects we installed all around the area in 2020. We expect more of the same this year and are ready to get the most out of your home landscaping design. After all, if you’ll be spending more time at home with the family again in 2021, shouldn’t it be with a few updates the whole family can get behind? We think so.

Knock Out the Big Stuff First

Not everyone has been able to save money this year and most of us are always on a budget of some kind. If you’re looking at your finances, and have some room to work with, where should you look first? Our expert opinion is that knock out the big projects first. These projects will have greater value for you and your family.

For example, installing a new pool is a large project, and the faster it is completed the faster you and the family will be able to enjoy it. Assuming it’s within your budget, would it make more sense to have your pool installed in June or September? June of course! This is what we mean by knock out the big projects first so that you can actually enjoy them when they make sense and when you’ll be spending the most time outdoors.

This doesn’t mean September is a bad time for a pool installation (in fact you can often get a better deal), but it means you’d have limited or no time to use the pool after it is done. Considering you’ll be looking for different ways to entertain the kids and to let them entertain themselves, a pool could be just the right fit.

What About Financing for My Project?
